WPM and CPM explained

Words per minute (WPM)is the standard measure of typing speed. A "word" is counted as any whitespace-separated token. The average typist types 40–60 WPM; professional typists and programmers often reach 80–100 WPM. CPM (characters per minute) = WPM × 5 approximately.
